Net Energy Metering (NEM) | Utility Information

PG&E
|

Net metering is the term used when your solar system generates more energy than your home consumes and that power flows back into the grid. Your electric meter will “spin backwards” and your electric bill will be credited for the surplus electricity you’ve generated. Your local utility will calculate these net charges, and bill you for the difference.
